Eighth Grade Student Application Process

Completion of the entrance exam is required for all eighth grader students interested in applying for admission to Catholic high schools within the Diocese of Joliet. As in previous years, students must take the test at the school where they wish to enroll. Please note that all the high schools located within the Diocese of Joliet will hold their annual entrance exam on the same date (now held in the beginning of December).

IC Catholic Prep does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, gender, national or ethnic origin in administration of its admissions policies, educational policies, athletic programs, scholarships and loan programs, or other school administered programs.

The Admissions Committee reviews each applicant on an individual basis. Applicants for admission must successfully complete eighth grade or its equivalent to be considered. 

Acceptance is based on a combination of the following factors:
  • Performance on the high school entrance exam
  • Academic ability as demonstrated by the review of 7th and 8th grade report cards
  • Performance on 7th and/or 8th grade standardized tests
  • Teacher evaluations
8th grade families, visit our Admissions Page under Admissions Events to schedule a shadow day and register for the Make-Up Entrance Exam on Saturday, January 27.

Registered students for the Entrance Exam on Saturday, January 27 should plan on arriving to campus by 7:45 AM. Testing begins promptly at 8 AM.

Transfer Student Application Process

IC Catholic Prep does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, gender, national or ethnic origin in administration of its admissions policies, educational policies, athletic programs, scholarships and loan programs, or other school administered programs.

The Admissions Committee reviews each Transfer Student Applicant on an individual basis. Transfer student applicants must complete the following to be considered for admission:
  1. Call or email our Director of Admission to learn more about the application process and to set up a tour.

  2. Transfer Students need to meet the following criteria:
    - Cumulative GPA of at least a 2.5
    - Free of any major disciplinary issues including excessive truancy
  1. Transfer Students are not allowed to shadow unless it has been set up and communicated in writing with our Director of Admissions, Mr. Patrick Gaeger. Transfer families must submit grades before Mr. Gaeger can schedule a shadow day.

  2. If transfer students meet all the criteria, there will be a transfer interview with the principal or assistant principal.

Special Note:  All Transfer Student Applicants will be reviewed by the Principal.
